Linda Chen, M.D.

Dr. Linda Chen is a board-certified radiation oncologist who serves as the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross and is an Associate Professor of Radiation and Cellular Oncology at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Chen received her undergraduate and medical degree from Duke University and was selected to be a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Medical Student Research fellow and received an Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society award for her research evaluating glioma cancer stem cells.  She completed medical internship and Radiation Oncology residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital where she was a research fellow at Bloomberg-Kimmel Instate of Immunotherapy and received a Johns Hopkins Physician Scientist Training grant and the Roentgen Resident Research Award for her work focused on the tumor-immune microenvironment.  Prior to being recruited to UCM, Dr. Chen was on faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) where she led investigator initiated clinical trials focused on using biomarkers to provide personalized approaches to cancer treatment, served as MSKCC PI or Co-PI of multi-institutional and cooperative group studies, and also was awarded a research grant from the MSKCC Center for HPV-Related cancers.  

Dr. Chen is seeing patients at the UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross in New Lenox, IL and specializes in the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer, tumors of the central nervous system, including metastatic cancer to the brain and spine, as well as breast cancer.
