Gillian C Alex, MD

Gillian Alex, M.D. is a board-certified thoracic surgeon specializing in the treatment of complex conditions affecting the chest, lungs, esophagus, and airway. As a skilled da Vinci Xi robotic surgeon, she utilizes advanced robotic-assisted techniques, along with video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), to provide minimally invasive treatment options that can help reduce pain, shorten recovery times, and improve patient outcomes. 

Dr. Alex completed her general surgery residency and thoracic surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center after earning her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. In addition to caring for patients, she serves as an Assistant Professor and is actively involved in research and medical education, helping advance the future of thoracic surgery and patient care.
