About The Provider
Erik Borncamp, M.D., F.A.C.S., board-certified general surgeon with Progressive Surgical Associates in New Lenox. He served as Medical Director for Silver Cross Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine from 2015-2023, and is an active member of Midwest Institute of Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital, which performs more robotic-assisted surgeries than anyone else in the Chicago area.
Dr. Borncamp received his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School/RF University of Health Sciences in 1996. He returned to his home state of California for his general surgery internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital/University of Southern California in Pasadena and returned to Chicago for his general surgery residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Borncamp has over 25 years of experience as a general surgeon, serving both rural and urban communities. He is currently the Chief of Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital.

Dr. Borncamp sees patients for a range of surgical issues, from minor outpatient procedures (lumps and bumps) to complex abdominal surgeries requiring hospitalization. He is trained to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions that affect the body's organs, tissues, and structures. Some common surgical procedures that he may perform include appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, and colon resections.
