Ankit Mahendra Patel, MD

Dr. Ankit Patel is a board-certified otolaryngologist with a specialized focus on nasal and sinus diseases. He is committed to delivering compassionate care to patients experiencing nasal, allergy, and sinus-related issues. His clinical interests also encompass pediatric ENT, thyroid disorders, management of snoring and sleep apnea, as well as addressing hearing loss.

Dr. Patel earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with Bronze Tablet honors. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, where he was recognized with the Alfred Furstenburg Award as the top graduating otolaryngology student. Following this, he completed his residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary, where he was appointed Chief Resident by his faculty. Dr. Patel further advanced his expertise by completing a fellowship in Rhinology, focusing on nasal and sinus disorders, as well as advanced endoscopic sinus surgery at Stanford University Medical Center.

An accomplished author, Dr. Patel has contributed to numerous medical publications and textbook chapters on sinus disease and frequently lectures at national ENT conferences on topics related to sinus care. He is dedicated to providing innovative solutions for his sinus patients and possesses expertise in advanced non-surgical treatments for nasal and sinus disorders. His surgical proficiencies include minimally invasive sinus management, nasal polypectomy, endoscopic skull base surgery, minimally invasive tumor resection, and endoscopic cerebrospinal fluid leak repair.

Dr. Patel is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is also a fellow of the American Rhinologic Society and an active member of the American Rhinologic Society, Illinois State Medical Society, and Will-Grundy Medical Society.
